Hammerson colleagues embark on The Outward Bound Trust Ambassador Programme

23 May 2019

Next week we have six intrepid colleagues venturing out of their offices and into remote locations for The Outward Bound Trust Ambassador Programme.

The Outward Bound Trust is our UK & Ireland Employee Charity Partner for 2018-20. The Outward Bound Trust supports young people from urban environments and whisks them away to secluded, natural environments for a week of physical activities and skills development.

Hammerson was offered the chance to send six colleagues on a residential to see, and support, the incredible work achieved by the charity.

Interest in the programme was extremely high and after a tough selection process, we are delighted to announce our six Ambassadors who are off on their journey next week:

Laurence Budden, Real Estate Executive

Rachael Kent, B2B Marketing Manager

David O’Neil, Head of Commercialisation

Joshua Edgington, Marketing Coordinator

Michelle Boswell, Property Information Manager

Kerry Haysted, Team PA

Our Ambassadors are split into two groups and will be spending five days in the Lake District and Scottish Highlands with up to 30 young people aged 15-18 yrs.

The purpose of the course is to provide disadvantaged young people with unforgettable experiences; challenging how they think and feel about themselves and giving them the confidence to navigate the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood. During the week the course participants will develop new skills such as resilience, communication, self-belief and goal-setting.

Our Ambassadors will mentor the young people to develop these skills, helping their group to bond as a team, and to overcome the mental and physical challenges of the week. Over the week, both course participants and Ambassadors will defy the limitations placed upon them and achieve more than they first thought.

Make sure you’re watching the Hammerson Instagram stories and following Hammerson Twitter to keep up to date with what our Ambassadors are getting up to.

We wish them all the best of luck!
