Hammerson is Disability Confident Level 1

Hammerson is extremely pleased to commit to the UK Government's Disability Confident Scheme.
Disability Confident is a UK government scheme designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.
To date, over 13,000 organisations have signed up to the scheme to change behaviour and cultures within their own business, networks and communities, and benefit from inclusive recruitment practices.
The Disability Confident scheme has three levels, with Level 3 the most advanced:
Level 1 – Disability Confident Committed
Level 2 – Disability Confident Employer
Level 3 – Disability Confident Leader
By signing up to Disability Confident Level 1, we have committed to:
- Having an inclusive and accessible recruitment process
- Offering an interview to suitable candidates with a disability who apply for a vacancy
- Providing reasonable adjustments in the workplace
- Providing support and assistance to existing employees
These commitments do not involve any operational changes as we already practice the commitments. For example, as part of our support of Disability Confident, we have stated that where possible, we will continue to offer work experience placements, apprenticeships and internships. Several of our centre teams are already collaborating with the Department for Work & Pensions to support and offer work experience placements to people with a disability.
However, by signing up to the scheme and displaying the Disability Confident logo on our website, we are helping customers and other businesses identify us as an employer that is committed to equality and inclusivity in the workplace.
Our Disability Confident Level 1 accreditation covers the Hammerson portfolio and assets.
