Supplier Survey Report 2019
16 Mar 2020
Hammerson has set targets to become Net Positive for our core material impacts of carbon emissions, water demand, resource use and socio-economic impacts by 2030. As an asset management and property development business much of our activity is delivered through our supply chain. To deliver these Net Positive targets and our wider Positive Places strategy, we must work with suppliers who understand and support our approach to sustainability.
We are pleased to be able to share the results from our latest survey with you:
The results set out in this report highlight the continued dedication of our suppliers to responsible business practices. For example:
- 98% of our suppliers have reduced waste generated and waste sent to landfill
- 91% of our suppliers have initiatives to reduce energy consumption
- 31% of suppliers make Corporate Responsibility targets publicly available
"It is heartening to see the increase in the number of suppliers making public commitments to Corporate Responsibility targets. However, there is still work to be done, as evidenced by the relatively low and falling percentage of suppliers engaging with their supply chain through a code of conduct and a responsible procurement policy."
Louise Ellison, Group Head of Sustainability, Hammerson
