Together with the SRA, Hammerson developed the first ever sustainability accreditation for food destinations. The initiative is to be rolled out to airports, stadia and railway stations as well as shopping centres. A rating of up to 3 stars is awarded following assessment across 3 areas: sourcing, environment and society.

The first location to achieve the new Sustainable Restaurant Association Food Destination rating, WestQuay Food Court secured 3 Star Sustainability Champion Status for managing food, water and energy and waste more efficiently and for the efforts of its retailers in sourcing food responsibly.
