The Big Positive Weekend 2014

11 Jun 2014

The Big Positive Weekend visited nine Hammerson shopping centres between June and August 2014. It celebrated people, brands, ideas and actions coming together to make our world a more positive place and successfully inspired over 200,000 positive actions. Over nine weekends, in nine cities, travelling 900 km, that was one Big Positive road trip. And it will be back in summer 2015...

From Southampton to Aberdeen, we invited our retailers and our shoppers to join us in the journey to a Big Positive Future.

We looked at everything from marine conservation through to the way people drive, with a range of activities designed to educate, engage and inspire action. With our Big Positive Partners people pledged, danced, shopped, watched, drove, painted and won…

Our Big Positive Activities

With The Big Positive Pledge Nationwide created new woodland areas across the UK. It was simple - you Pledged, they Planted. Shoppers were invited to make a photo pledge, set in our woodland scene and using our photo booth to create their personal pledge photo to share with friends and family. For every pledge made, Nationwide planted a tree - over 6000 trees were planted as a result of Big Positive Weekend pledges.

Steering a positive path with Renault, as they introduced their 100% electric Zoe and offered our shoppers a chance to be snapped with the season’s must have statement piece – the 100% electric Twizy in the seasons print.

We joined SEA LIFE as they searched for the UK’s positive picture of 2014, with artwork from pupils across the UK. With regional finalists chosen by our centre teams, and great prizes including the best sleepover ever, under the sharks at a SEA LIFE centre.

We got our shoppers moving with the E.ON Hotstepper Challenge, as they took on our kinetic dance floor to see who had the most energetic feet in town. Our Hotstepping prize drawer winner carried on the dance, with tickets to see Kylie with hospitality and accommodation.

We saw our centres in a new light revealing what’s been going on After Dark with British Champions in urban sports, and our partner somewhereto_. Click here to see the films we created...
